Architect:

Franklin
Elementary School was originally built in 1915, and the
neighborhood association and the San Antonio ISD wished
to preserve the original facade. In a two-phased
operation lasting three years, the school was kept in
continuous operation while adding a new cafeteria and a
gymnasium, and a two-story classroom addition, all
pivoting around a naturally lit, intimate library.
The administrative offices now occupy the old building,
integrated seamlessly into the new construction. |
